In 2005, NASA discovered an Earth-like exoplanet that might harbor intelligent life. To attempt contact with any potential extraterrestrial beings, NASA initiated the Lighthouse Project and set up a deep space communication array in Hawaii to transmit high-powered signals as a probe. A few years later, alien spacecraft arrived unexpectedly. The Pacific Fleet of joint naval exercises stationed in Hawaii was tasked with initiating contact. Midshipman Alex (played by Taylor Kitsch) from his missile destroyer led two other ships as reconnaissance vessels but were attacked severely, suffering heavy losses due to the shield defenses deployed by the aliens. Unable to receive support from allied warships because of these shields, they had to fend for themselves until all three modern vessels were destroyed. With no more ships available, yet needing to destroy the occupied communications station, they resorted to using the Missouri battleship, now serving as a maritime museum, for their final assault. Could a World War II-era battleship outmatch advanced alien technology? What fate lies ahead for Earth?。
